Gadwal: Telangana’s Minister for Transport and BC Welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, visited the historic Sri Jogulamba Bala Brahmeshwara Swamy Temple in Alampur along with his family. During his visit, the Minister prayed for divine blessings from Goddess Jogulamba, asking for strength to address public issues and ensure the happiness of the people.

The Jogulamba Temple is a significant architectural site, originally built by Chalukyan queen Lokamahadevi during the reign of Vinayaditya in 704 A.D. The temple is known for its detailed architecture, including a beautiful curvilinear tower, intricate sculptures, and carvings that depict various Hindu deities and scenes from ancient stories.

Upon his arrival at the temple, Minister Prabhakar was welcomed in a traditional manner by the temple priests with a “Poorna Kumbham” ceremony. He performed abhishekam (ritual worship) at the Bala Brahmeshwara Swamy Temple and offered special prayers at the Jogulamba Temple. The priests gave him sacred offerings and honored him with a ceremonial shawl.

After the rituals, Minister Prabhakar spoke about the importance of preserving the temple’s heritage. He praised the efforts of the Archaeological Department and shared his intention to work with the central government to develop the temple further. He emphasized the temple’s spiritual importance and expressed his plans to improve facilities for devotees.

Additionally, he directed officials to arrange daily RTC buses from the temple to the Alampur junction after the evening “Harathi” to make travel easier for devotees.

The Minister’s visit continued with prayers at the Papanaashanam Temple, where he made more offerings. Earlier that day, he was greeted by District Collector B.M. Santosh and District SP Thota Srinivas Rao with floral bouquets at Haritha Hotel. The Minister was also given a guard of honor by the local police.

Several officials were present during the visit, including former Alampur MLA Sampath Kumar, RDO Ramachander, BC Welfare Officer Ramesh Babu, and other local authorities.

The Minister’s visit highlighted both the religious and cultural importance of Alampur’s temples. It also showcased his commitment to improving the spiritual experience for devotees by enhancing infrastructure and services at the temple.
