Telangana’s political arena saw a heated war of words as State Road Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar delivered a harsh attack on the BRS party, accusing them of utilizing theatrical techniques to criticize the newly formed administration. The minister’s angry remarks were made during the Palamuru Nyaya Yatra, which was spearheaded by CWC member Challa Vamsichand Reddy and led by Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar, on Sunday in Penjarla village, Kothur Mandal.
Prabhakar proudly praised the Congress government’s prompt fulfillment of its commitments, particularly the implementation of the six assurances and the facilitation of free travel for over 16 crore female travelers within the first two months. He was unequivocal in his condemnation of the BRS party’s constant rhetorical attacks on the government, emphasizing their apparent disregard for the welfare of the RTC organization and workers.
In a direct response to the BRS’s complaints, Prabhakar denounced them as baseless and politically motivated. He questioned the opposition’s means of transportation to the assembly, citing their alleged use of automobiles rather than more dignified vehicles, implying ulterior reasons behind the decision.
Prabhakar emphasized the Congress’ persistent commitment to bringing about meaningful change, citing government measures like the modernization of public administration systems and the allocation of dues worth 280 crores to RTC workers. He also questioned the BRS’s governance record, citing its alleged neglect of critical projects like the Lakshmi Devi Palli scheme in the Shadnagar constituency.
Prabhakar voiced optimism about the Congress’s chances in both state and national elections, anticipating a “double engine government” if they win. Notable personalities such as former MLA Pratap Reddy and former ZPTC Shyamsunder Reddy attended the event, as did ex-MPP Venugopal Goud, ex-Sarpanch Sudarshan Goud, and different Congress officials, reinforcing the party’s position in the region and solidifying its support base.
