Hyderabad: Minister KTR stated that Hyderabad is a city with unique characteristics that no other city in the country possesses. He mentioned that it is creating history by being the first city in the country to treat 100% of its sewage. He inaugurated the Outer Ring Road (ORR) interchange at Narsingi along with Minister Sabita Indra Reddy. They also announced the construction of another interchange at a cost of Rs. 29.50 crore, which will be the 20th interchange on the ORR. They further added that more projects will be coming soon, including increasing the speed limit on the outer ring road to 120 kilometers per hour.
Minister KTR announced that they have obtained permissions to construct 14 bridges over the Musi river. He mentioned that the installation of these bridges will start soon as they have received tenders for five out of the fifteen bridges. They also revealed their plans to construct an expressway over a distance of 55 kilometers from Shamsabad to Nagole, with an estimated cost of Rs. 150 crore. Additionally, they announced the construction of the Skyway over the Musi river. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were unable to carry out beautification work on the Musi river at a faster pace. The completion of Shamshabad Airport Metro and the metro rail from BHEL to Kondapur Pharmacy are also in progress, as announced by BHEL.
In an effort to promote Hyderabad’s development, Minister KTR urged the central government to cooperate. He requested Home Minister Rajnath Singh to provide security for the upcoming Skywalk and to expedite land acquisition for the Skyway from Jubilee Bus Stand to Shiva Katakam. He emphasized the importance of timely completion of these projects and urged the central government to provide necessary assistance. He also highlighted that agriculture is being carried out uninterrupted for the development of Hyderabad. Additionally, they have plans to establish a cycling track according to international standards, which is set to begin in August.
