In Hyderabad, the Endowments Minister Konda Surekha has instructed officials to finish preparations for the Ashada Masa Bonalu festival by July 5. This festival is being held in Telangana for the first time in a decade.
During a meeting at Haritha Plaza, the Minister checked on the progress of different departments’ work for the festival. She emphasized the importance of completing all tasks by July 5 to ensure the festival is successful.
The government has allocated Rs 20 crores for organizing the Bonalu festival. With the Mahalakshmi scheme providing bus services for women attendees, there is expected to be a large crowd. Therefore, arrangements need to be made thoughtfully.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stressed the significance of organizing the festival in collaboration with temple authorities. He highlighted the importance of providing clean prasadam, quality water, uninterrupted electricity, and maintaining law and order during the event.
The meeting was attended by various officials including the Hyderabad mayor, deputy mayor, State DGP, principal secretary of the Devalaya Department, Hyderabad CP, temple chairmen, committee members, and others.
