Nirmal: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao is working towards fulfilling the land rights of tribal people, said Minister Indrakaran Reddy, Minister for Environment, during a program held on Wednesday at Kubair Mandal center to distribute land to tribal communities.

During the event, Minister Indrakaran Reddy mentioned that 1.51 lakh tribal families, who have been fighting for their rights, will receive land titles for the 4.05 lakh acres of forest land they are currently occupying as Podu Pattas. He also stated that the government is providing financial assistance through the Girivikasam program to help tribals in developing their lands by digging borewells. Additionally, he mentioned that the government is also planning to provide electricity through a three-phase current supply.

The government has also made it clear that it will take strict actions against anyone who encroaches on the land of tribal farmers. The Minister emphasized that only rightful landowners can claim land and not those who are merely relatives of the landowners. He further highlighted that the state government has implemented various schemes for the development and welfare of tribal communities, citing the progress made in villages under agency areas in recent years. The event was attended by officials such as MLC Vithal Reddy and Collector Varun Reddy.
