Nirmal, July 6: Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been criticized by Environment Minister Indrakaran Reddy for not taking concrete steps to address the issue of water, forests, and land degradation. On Thursday, they sent notices to farmers in the Mamada and Sarangapur Mandal centers to stop cultivating land.

Speaking in this context, Minister Indrakaran Reddy stated that Chief Minister KCR had resolved the problem of land degradation by implementing various schemes. He mentioned that the government had allocated land pattas to tribal communities who did not have land and had provided compensation to the farmers who were affected by the encroachments. He also said that they were introducing cultivation on 4.50 lakh acres of land for 1.52 lakh people across the state. In Adilabad district alone, they have sent notices to 37,000 farmers for cultivation on 12 lakh acres of land.

Minister Indrakaran Reddy, who is facing criticism for issuing cultivation notices, informed that along with cultivation rights, farmers are also eligible for farmer loans and insurance. He mentioned that every six months, farmers receive Rs. 5,000 per acre as part of the Rythu Bandhu scheme. He appealed to everyone not to encroach upon forest lands and to cooperate in the protection of forests.

In addition, it was noted that recognizing the growth potential of backward communities, reservations for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes could be increased under the supervision of Chief Minister KCR. Subsequently, Minister Indrakaran Reddy fulfilled the request of the tribal community by cultivating land in Raveendranayak’s fields in Arak Pattis in Podu lands.
