Minister Adopts Wild Animals at Kakatiya Zoo
In a heartwarming gesture, Minister for Forests, Environment, and Endowments, Konda Surekha, has adopted four wild animals from the Kakatiya Zoo Park in Warangal. The animals include a nilgai, a sambar deer, a chousingha, and a bison. To support their care and maintenance, the minister contributed Rs 50,000 for each animal, totaling Rs 2 lakh. The adoption formalities were completed in the presence of the Zoo Park’s Assistant Curator, Mayuri.
Minister Surekha encouraged others to consider adopting animals from the zoo, including individuals and NGOs. She highlighted that animal adoption can be done for different durations—three months, six months, or a year. Those interested can reach out to forest department officials for more details.
Additionally, the minister urged forest officials to raise awareness about the tax exemptions available for animal adoptions, making it an even more attractive option for potential adopters. This initiative aims to promote wildlife conservation and ensure better care for zoo animals.
