Minister Announces Plan to Equip 50,000 Youth with Employable Skills Over 4 Years

Hyderabad: On Wednesday, Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu announced that around 50,000 young people will be trained to gain skills that will help them find jobs worldwide and start their own businesses.

The Minister stressed that the government is dedicated to making sure young people find employment. To make this happen, the government is ensuring that the youth are trained in skills that are in demand in the market. This will enable them to take advantage of job opportunities not only in the State but across the country. Additionally, they will have the skills needed to start their own businesses.

To support the growth of small businesses in Telangana, a new initiative called TEJAS (Telangana Entrepreneur Journey for Accelerating Success) was launched on Wednesday. This initiative began with a partnership between the Department of Industries and Commerce and the National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). As part of this partnership, district industries centers in all 33 districts of the State will promote NSIC schemes and work together on skill development activities for small businesses.

NSIC is a government enterprise under the Union Ministry of MSME, certified with ISO 9001:2015. Its mission is to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) grow in Telangana by providing them with various schemes to improve their competitiveness.

NSIC offers a range of support services to MSMEs, including help with marketing, technology, and finance. It also provides raw material assistance, bill discounting, single-point registration, and digital facilitation. In addition, NSIC offers skill development training at its centers, including one in Hyderabad, to meet the needs of the MSME sector and to encourage entrepreneurship.
