Mid day meal | Khammam Education, June 23: The menu for the mid day meal program being implemented in government schools has been changed. Along with providing nutritious food items along with the required nutritional value to the students, a variety of menus are being prepared. They are also providing nutritious food items made with ragi and jowar in the menu for three days a week. The mid day meal is being served in nearby buildings without causing any inconvenience to the agency. The headmasters are monitoring the mid day meal for every student on a daily basis. From the start of this academic year on June 12, a new menu is being implemented. As part of the Vidya Dinotsavam, they have started the ragi festival program.
Nutritious food as the goal…
The Telangana government has not compromised on providing nutritious food to the students. In the past governments, they provided a full meal to the students with rice for the mid day meal. However, many students used to skip school in the middle due to not eating that meal. Balakarmikas were also affected. Chief Minister KCR, after thoroughly examining this issue, implemented the Sannabhiyyam Pathakam in the mid day meal with millets. Students are coming to schools regularly without any shortage. This program is benefiting all students.
Attendance as the basis…
The mid day meal agency officials announce the number of students present for the mid day meal from 10:30 am onwards. The attendance of students determines the amount of food to be served. This method is very effective in providing nutritious food by cooking more or less depending on the number of students. This has led to a reduction in wastage of food items. CM KCR, with a special focus on education officials, has held several meetings and made significant improvements in the mid day meal. The main focus is on serving hot meals to the students who attend schools. The number of students in schools has significantly increased due to this program.
Kitchen sheds in place…
The state government has approved necessary kitchen sheds for the mid day meal. Kitchen sheds have been constructed in our village, our ward, and our colony programs for the mid day meal. They have also been constructed in other areas where the mid day meal was previously not available. Along with the kitchen sheds, dining halls have been prepared to serve the students. This has reduced the burden on the mid day meal staff and has made the meals more peaceful. Along with the kitchen sheds, dining halls have been provided for the students to enjoy their meals comfortably.
