On Wednesday, Meta launched its Verified Subscriptions of Accounts” feature on Facebook and Instagram. This new feature will be developed to authenticate accounts for security purposes. The verification can be purchased through a subscription every month for Rs. 699.
It is currently available on Facebook and Instagram, where accounts will be verified in order to reduce cases of impersonation. To be verified, the feature will ensure that the accounts are monitored by the owners rather than hackers, and the process will be completed through government ID identification.
Currently, the feature is only available in English. Meta claims that the support feature will soon include Hindi. If you meet the eligibility requirements, which include being over the age of 18 and uploading a copy of your government ID, the verification feature will authenticate and verify your identity. The identified account will then be checked in aspects of their posting and activity to make sure of the verification process. Web purchases will be available for Rs. 599 per month soon.
