On the occasion of World Mental Health Day and World Sight Day, a special rally was held in Nagar Kurnool. The rally was inaugurated by District Medical and Health Officer, Dr. K.V. Swarajyalakshmi, who flagged it off at the District Panchayat premises.
During the event, Dr. Swarajyalakshmi spoke about the importance of early identification of mental health issues. She stressed that recognizing mental health problems early can help prevent them from worsening. She highlighted the role of family members in noticing changes in a person’s behavior and seeking help when needed.
Dr. Swarajyalakshmi also explained that World Mental Health Day is observed every year on October 10 to raise awareness about mental health. This year, the World Health Organization has chosen the theme “Mental Health at Work” to bring attention to mental health in the workplace.
In her speech, she pointed out that in today’s fast-paced world, everyone, regardless of age, is facing mental stress. She emphasized the need for people to focus on their mental well-being.
The event was attended by several important figures, including Deputy DMHO Dr. Venkat Das, program officers Dr. Ravi Kumar Naik, Dr. Srinivasulu, Dr. Krishna Mohan, as well as medical staff and ASHA workers.
