The Telangana Drugs Control Administration seized 1,800 klinthia 100 mg tablets in a raid at Sri Ram Medical Agencies in Mancherial town. The value of the seized drug was estimated to be Rs 30,000. Thiamine Hydrochloride Tablets 100 mg are used to treat various conditions and must be manufactured under strict guidelines.
These tablets were being falsely manufactured under a food license at Space Healthcare, Kambopura, Haryana, and marketed illegally as a food product by Medkline Life Sciences Pvt Ltd. The medicine must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and meet quality standards prescribed in the Indian Pharmacopoeia.
During the raid at Sri Ram Medical Agencies, DCA officers found 1,800 thiamine hydrochloride tablets, 100 mg, worth Rs 30,000. Samples were taken for analysis by the authorities. M Srinivasulu, T Chandana, and other officials conducted the raid in Mancherial.
Manufacturing and selling drugs without a valid license is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Such products can pose serious risks to patients’ health and have severe implications.
