Water tankers will now deliver water to residential areas within 12 hours, following a decision made during a recent meeting. The Managing Director of HMWSSB, Sudarshan Reddy, reviewed summer operations and tanker management with senior officials.
During the meeting, the Water Board MD issued orders to address issues related to both the supply of fresh water and contamination, focusing on managing sewage water. The demand for water tankers in the city has increased significantly, with over 1.68 lakh trips recorded in March and 1.67 lakh trips in just 22 days of April.
To meet the growing demand, new tankers, filling stations, and filling points have been set up compared to the previous month. Furthermore, water is now being supplied through tankers at night to reduce pending requests and improve efficiency.
