Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi of Hyderabad has instructed officials to address the issues with street lights within two days. She recently reviewed the maintenance of street lights with Commissioner Ronald Rose and electricity department officials at the GHMC headquarters. During the meeting, Vijayalakshmi acknowledged that complaints have not been resolved promptly due to a lack of buffer stock and allocation of funds to other municipalities in the state. As a result, there have been numerous complaints from residents and corporators. One common issue is street lights being lit during the day and not at night, which has been reported in various areas of the city.
