Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi is happy about the state’s decision to allocate Rs 3,101.21 crore to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in the budget. She thanked the Chief Minister and Finance Minister for their efforts in solving the financial difficulties faced by GHMC since the new government took charge.
The Mayor mentioned that earlier, GHMC struggled to pay salaries and allowances to its employees. However, after the Congress government came to power, they allocated Rs 10,000 crore in the budget, keeping their promise.
She also shared that Rs 3,030 crore, which was due to GHMC from registration and mutation processes, has now been released. This will help ensure that employee salaries are paid on the first day of each month.
Additionally, the government has approved an extra Rs 25 crore for infrastructure development in every zone of GHMC.
