Sikander Raza, a Zimbabwean all-rounder, praised Matheesha Pathirana, a young Sri Lankan pacer playing for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023. Raza called Pathirana more difficult to read than Lasith Malinga, a retired legendary pacer known for his similar action to Pathirana’s.
Pathirana has impressed many in the ongoing IPL 2023 with his arm coming lower and his 145kph pace, making it challenging for batsmen to predict the delivery. Raza said that on a particular wicket, Pathirana was trickier to face than Malinga.

Raza added that he was lucky to score runs against him and hit a gap to get three runs while playing for the Punjab Kings. He also said that when it’s one’s day, luck sometimes comes in weird ways.
