Villagers in Kalahandi district were scared when they saw posters from the Maoists paying tribute to their dead members. The posters were put up by the KKBN division of the Maoists and were found on the main road of Taparang village. The posters had pictures of the deceased Maoists and talked about their lives and accomplishments. The Maoists also criticized the police for killing their members and mentioned that one of them had just gotten married.
The police had an encounter with some Maoists during a search operation in the Tapareng-Ludengarh reserve forest under M Rampur police station. Three Maoists were killed during the exchange of fire.
