The Delhi government’s decision to ban fireworks before Diwali has caused a political controversy. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari challenged the ban in the Supreme Court, but his plea was rejected. The court advised Tiwari to use firecrackers in areas where they are not prohibited. The Delhi government has banned all types of firecrackers due to pollution concerns.

Tiwari’s lawyer argued that the government had allowed the use of green firecrackers, but the court stated that the ban would not be overturned. The court emphasized the importance of people’s health and suggested that Tiwari should educate the public about not bursting crackers. The court also advised against using firecrackers in victory processions after elections.
