Hyderabad: Around 624 officers attended a one-day training program for mandal education officers at Kumaram Bheem Adivasi Bhawan in Banjara Hills.
During the training, officials from the school education department emphasized several key responsibilities. They highlighted the importance of providing quality education, ensuring that out-of-school children are enrolled, paying special attention to children with special needs, and maintaining the mid-day meal program.
Principal Secretary of Education, Burra Venkatesham, was present at the event. He stressed that every mandal officer should visit at least two schools daily. He also encouraged the introduction of innovative programs that help develop the overall character and personality of students. Venkatesham stated that students should be encouraged to join scouts and guides, and schools should form five to six student clubs. These clubs would help students gain confidence and improve their public speaking skills.
Director of School Education, Telangana, EV Narasimha Reddy, added that students should be supported in various activities beyond academics. He noted that this would help students recognize their potential to excel in different fields. He urged the mandal education officers to create opportunities for students to explore their talents.
Lastly, Akunuri Murali, Chairman of the Telangana Education Commission, highlighted the critical role mandal education officers play in improving the quality of education. He added that these officers should work closely with both parents and teachers to ensure that students receive the best possible education.
