A man was caught transporting 62 kg of ganja at Secunderabad railway station. The ganja is worth Rs 15.5 lakh. The man, identified as Chand Kumar Nayak, was arrested on the spot while four other suspects are on the run.
Nayak was moving the ganja from Odisha to Maharashtra. The Secunderabad railway police and Railway Protection Force conducted a surprise check on Monday morning. Nayak was caught on platform number 10 with the contraband in two trolley suitcases and three shoulder bags.
The other suspects, including one named Chida from Odisha, are currently missing. The operation was supervised by Shaik Saleema, Superintendent of Railway Police, and her deputy, SN Jawed. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, Additional Director General of Railway, praised the efforts of the GRP Secunderabad officers and personnel.
