Hyderabad police have arrested a man for illegally storing and selling spoiled sheep and goat meat. The raid was conducted by the Commissioner’s Task Force South-East Zone Team along with a veterinary officer.
The accused, 24-year-old Mohd Misbahuddin from Mathaki Kidki, Dabeerpura, was found in possession of two quintals of spoiled offal, including legs, heads, tongues, and brains, worth ₹1.50 lakh.
According to the police, Misbahuddin bought stale sheep and goat offal at low prices from the wholesale market. He then stored them illegally and sold them to hotels, events, and functions, putting public health at risk.
Consuming such spoiled meat can cause serious health problems. Officials have warned against the dangers of eating unfit meat products.
This incident follows another major raid on Wednesday in Mangalhat. In that operation, officials seized 12 tons of stale offal worth ₹8 lakh. The accused in that case, Mohd Afroz, owner of A to Z Sheep, was also arrested for selling unfit meat.
Authorities continue their crackdown on illegal meat sellers to ensure public safety.
