Hyderabad: Congress MP Mallu Ravi addressed concerns about the potential impact of the HYDRA project on real estate. He explained that when living standards improve, real estate naturally benefits.
During a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, the Nagarkurnool MP responded to a question from The Hans India. He acknowledged that there might be a temporary impact, but assured that the government’s long-term plans, including the Musi River beautification and the HYDRA project, would not have a lasting negative effect. Ravi noted that large projects often displace some people but ultimately benefit many more. He emphasized that HYDRA’s goal is to enhance both the ecosystem and living conditions, and when these improve, real estate businesses will thrive. He predicted that confidence in better living conditions would lead to a significant boost in the real estate market.
Mallu Ravi also supported the government’s initiatives, praising Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy as a “silent revolutionary.” Drawing a comparison to Tamil Nadu’s leaders, Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha, Ravi said that Revanth Reddy should be recognized similarly for his efforts in Telangana. He highlighted the CM’s hard work, day and night, for the state’s development.
Ravi criticized the opposition for questioning the government’s decisions, stating that they were well aware of the challenges involved in projects like the Musi River beautification. He pointed out that without proper cleansing and relocation solutions for displaced families, such projects would not be successful. He urged BRS leaders to reflect on what they have done for Telangana, especially after borrowing Rs seven lakh crore.
He also mentioned the CM’s vision to place Hyderabad on the global map, noting that a skill and sports university has been established for the youth. Ravi accused the previous government of wasting public money by constructing the new Secretariat and the CM Camp office at Pragathi Bhavan, while Revanth Reddy focused on protecting constitutional values and addressing public concerns.
Finally, Ravi acknowledged that while the HYDRA project and the Musi beautification might cause temporary difficulties, they would ultimately benefit lakhs of people in Hyderabad.
