Gadwal: On September 21, 2024, a major vehicle checking operation took place at the Pullur Toll Plaza on National Highway 44 in Gadwal District. The operation was led by Superintendent of Police (SP) T. Srinivasa Rao along with other senior police officials. Nearly 200 police officers participated in the drive, which aimed to improve road safety and stop illegal transportation.
During the drive, around 100 two-wheelers, 100 four-wheelers, and several autorickshaws were thoroughly inspected. SP Srinivas Rao explained that the purpose of the operation was to raise awareness about road safety. He stressed the dangers of overloaded vehicles and vehicles without proper fitness certificates, both of which can increase the chances of accidents.
SP Rao also mentioned the importance of the Pullur Checkpost, which is located on the border between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This makes it a key point for monitoring and preventing illegal transportation between the two states.
The SP advised passengers to travel only in authorized vehicles or use properly certified vehicles. He warned that traveling in private vehicles that do not meet safety standards could be dangerous.
The large vehicle checking drive was supported by traffic inspectors, road transport officials, and a team of police officers, all working together to ensure the operation ran smoothly.
