    Major fire at substation causes power outage in Siddipet

    A major fire at a 220 KV substation in Siddipet caused a power outage in the entire district. The fire started in a 100 MBA transformer, leading to the suspension of electricity supply. Thick smoke filled the area as the fire spread, prompting electricity department staff to shut down other transformers.

    As a result, Siddipet town and surrounding areas lost power. Fire brigade officials arrived at the scene with four to five fire engines to extinguish the blaze. Former Minister Harish Rao and Dubbaka MLA Kota Prabhakar Reddy visited the site to assess the situation.

    Harish Rao contacted Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka regarding the incident. Siddipet Congress party incharge Pujala Harikrishna also spoke to electricity department officials, the Collector, and the Police Department to ensure swift action. Power supply will be restored once the fire is contained, but the damage is estimated to be over 2 crores.
