Hyderabad: PCC Chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud has highlighted the level of corruption during the BRS regime. He stated that former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and his son, K T Rama Rao, would soon face trial for their involvement in corrupt activities.
Mahesh Kumar Goud expressed that even a 10-year prison sentence would be insufficient for the wrongdoings of the family, given the large scale of corruption they were part of.
Speaking to the media in Delhi, he mentioned that the current government is preparing to take action against corruption, responding to citizens’ demands for accountability.
He particularly pointed out the financial mismanagement in the Kaleshwaram project, which has contributed to the state’s growing debt. He also brought attention to irregularities in power procurement contracts. Additionally, Goud questioned KCR’s absence from the Assembly’s sessions, wondering why the Leader of Opposition is not available to the public or willing to engage with the ruling party on important issues.
His comments come after Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s statement on October 23, where the minister announced that the government would begin taking action against BRS leaders soon.
Earlier in the day, Mahesh Kumar Goud met with Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge to discuss various state issues, including the upcoming public meeting on the BC caste census scheduled for November.
