At the Sri Jnana Saraswati Temple near Kollapur Crossroads in Nagarkurnool district, special poojas were performed on the 6th day of Devi Sharan Navaratri. On this day, Goddess Durga was adorned as Mahalakshmi Devi.
The temple’s chief priest, P. Naveen Kumar, led the rituals. Devotees Bhupal Reddy and Bhargavi, along with others, participated in special poojas, including the Navagraha Yagas. Committee members Dodla Indumathi, Elime Eshwaraiah, and assistant priest Prasad Sharma were also present.
In Jayashankar Colony, special poojas were led by Ragishetti Pullayya and Sujata. Meanwhile, in Raghavendra Colony, the Bajrang Youth Group, under the leadership of Srinivasulu and Lalitha, organized Durga poojas for the community.
Women devotees offered 58 types of Naivedyam (food offerings) to the Goddess and performed traditional dances like Bathukamma and Kolatam. In Raghavendra Colony, Ayyappa temple’s chief priest Gavvamata Vijay Kumar Shastri guided the rituals. Devotees Chinnayya and Krishna Veni organized additional prayers, including Lalitha Sahasranama recitations and Kumkumaarchana.
Many women, local residents, and children actively participated in the celebrations, making the event lively and joyous across different neighborhoods.
