The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that 35% of government job positions in the state will be reserved exclusively for women during the initial recruitment stage. This policy will apply to all government departments except for the Forest Department. The goal is to promote gender diversity and equal representation in the public sector workforce.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for multiple projects in Madhya Pradesh, worth Rs 12,600 crore. These developments come ahead of the upcoming assembly polls next month.

One of the main projects is the ‘Veerangana Rani Durgavati Smarak aur Udyaan’ in Jabalpur. It will cost around Rs 100 crore and will have a 52-foot-tall bronze statue of Rani Durgavati, a significant figure in history. The memorial will also include a museum that showcases the history, culture, and art of the Gond people and other tribal communities in the region.
