MAA E.N.T. Celebrates World Hearing Day
MAA E.N.T. joined the global community in celebrating World Hearing Day, which aims to raise awareness about hearing loss and the importance of ear care. This year’s theme, “Hear the Future,” emphasizes early intervention and proactive steps to prevent hearing problems.
On this occasion, Konda Surekha, Minister for Forest and Environment and Endowments, praised MAA E.N.T. for its contributions to hearing care. She also honored the doctors for their dedicated efforts in treating hearing loss.
MAA E.N.T.: A Leader in Hearing Care
Since its establishment in 2001, MAA E.N.T. has been a pioneer in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) care. The hospital is well-known for its expertise in cochlear implants and auditory rehabilitation. With advanced technology and a skilled surgical team, MAA E.N.T. has successfully performed over 700 cochlear implant surgeries, helping many people regain their hearing and improve their lives.
Success in Cochlear Implant Rehabilitation
For cochlear implants to be effective, proper rehabilitation is essential. MAA E.N.T. has a world-class rehabilitation team that specializes in auditory-verbal therapy and cochlear implant mapping. These services help children develop spoken language skills and succeed in mainstream education.
The hospital operates under the leadership of Dr. K.R. Meghanadh, a well-known ENT surgeon and expert in cochlear implantation. He is supported by Dr. Sujitha Reddy, Dr. Murtuza, and Dr. Lakshith, who ensure high standards in both surgical procedures and medical training.
The rehabilitation team, led by audiologist Mr. Vikas, alongside AVT specialists Mr. Ramu and Mrs. Kalyani, provides crucial post-surgery support. Their guidance has helped many children with cochlear implants succeed academically and socially.
Commitment to Early Detection & Community Outreach
MAA E.N.T. promotes early detection of hearing loss by offering free hearing screenings for children under two years of age. The hospital has also conducted newborn hearing screening camps in government maternity hospitals, screening over 5,000 babies in the last three years.
To prevent hearing loss, MAA E.N.T. performs auditory sensitivity tests to detect problems early. The hospital also organizes free medical camps in remote areas. Through these initiatives, over 4,000 patients have received free ENT screenings and treatment.
A Premier Institution for ENT Training & Treatment
MAA E.N.T. is not only a center for patient care but also a leading training institution for future ENT specialists.
