TDP National General Secretary Lokesh stated that Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest is a result of his vocal opposition to the YSRCP Government’s wrongdoings, particularly regarding Polavaram. Lokesh visited his father in jail after returning from New Delhi and spoke to the media, calling the arrest a political vendetta. He mentioned that Naidu initiated the case to expose the government’s irregularities and was subsequently detained for 28 days.

Lokesh explained that initially, there were allegations of corruption amounting to Rs 3,000 crore, which later reduced to Rs 300 crore. He believed that Chandrababu’s arrest was solely based on the party’s achievements and accused the YSRCP of manipulating the system to send him to jail.
