In Wanaparthy, drug inspectors’ checks are being criticized for being ineffective, with medical shop owners acting like doctors. In Pebbair mandal, the unchecked sale of medicines is becoming a serious issue, putting people’s health at risk.

If someone has a headache, fever, or stomach pain, they don’t need to visit a doctor. Instead, they can just explain their symptoms to local medical shops, which will give them medicines without a prescription. The shopkeepers themselves decide what medicines to give, how many pills to take, and for how long, without any proper medical guidance.

In Tirumalagiri, more than half of the medical shops are irresponsibly selling medicines in this way.

Local drug inspectors are being accused of ignoring these illegal practices. Recently, it was discovered that a drug inspector visited Sugur village in Pebbair mandal and took money from an RMP doctor. This has raised concerns about corruption among officials who are supposed to monitor and regulate these shops. Locals are worried that this corruption is endangering their health.
