    Hyderabad: The Local Military Authorities (LMA) have once again imposed restrictions on civilian movement, particularly during nighttime, on several Secunderabad Cantonment roads. One of the major changes includes the permanent closure of the gates at Eagle Chowk, which is causing significant inconvenience for commuters.

    In addition to these restrictions, security checks have returned to the Cantonment roads, further affecting civilians. These measures have raised concerns among residents, who feel increasingly burdened by frequent changes in commuting rules.

    Residents have expressed frustration, pointing out that the LMA continues to impose such restrictions despite orders from the Central Government to keep the gates open. Currently, the restrictions are in place from 8:30 pm to 6:00 am, affecting roads like Protnee Road. Furthermore, a road near Valerian Grammar School in Bolarum has been dug up and blocked without any prior notice, adding to the confusion among commuters.

    “For the past month, the gates at Eagle Chowk have been permanently closed, and the newly installed Ammuguda gate is now shut during the evenings,” said Manoj Kumar, a local resident. “This is making daily travel much harder, as people are forced to take longer routes to reach their destinations.”

    Another resident, Ramesh from Yapral, shared his experience: “Without any advisory or prior notice, nighttime restrictions have been imposed from 8:30 pm to 6:00 am. Last year, morning walkers and pedestrians also faced restrictions on these roads. As someone who travels through this area after 8:30 pm every day, I am facing severe difficulties because of these curbs.”

    The frequent road closures and lack of communication from the authorities have left residents and commuters frustrated, calling for more transparency and consideration for the public’s needs.
