The response to tenders for liquor shops in Telangana has been huge due to the upcoming election season. In just three days, over 2,000 applications have been received. Despite a non-refundable application fee of Rs.2 lakh, many traders are still applying. In the previous notification, the government collected Rs.1,350 crore in application fees, and it is expected that an even larger amount will be collected this time.
Applications are pouring in from all districts of the state, with a lot of competition for liquor tenders in Karimnagar, Rangareddy, Warangal, Khammam, and Nizamabad. Currently, there are 2,620 liquor shops in the state, and more than 2,000 applications have already been received. The deadline for tender submission is August 18 at 6 pm, and liquor shops will be allotted on August 21 through a lottery system.
