Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, criticized a resolution passed at the DMK-sponsored Delimitation-Joint Action Committee (D-JAC) meeting in Chennai. The meeting, chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, proposed that South India should receive 36% representation in Parliament since it contributes 36% to the country’s GDP.

Speaking at an event in Karimnagar, Bandi Sanjay questioned this logic. He argued that linking GDP contribution to parliamentary representation does not make sense. He gave an example, saying that districts like Asifabad, Adilabad, and Mulugu contribute less to Telangana’s GDP, but that does not mean they should have no representation in the Assembly.

He accused the D-JAC meeting of being a political stunt, attended by leaders from Congress, BRS, DMK, AAP, and CPI (M). According to him, many of these leaders were involved in liquor scams and were using the delimitation issue as a distraction. He claimed that the Stalin government in Tamil Nadu was facing allegations of a ₹1,000 crore liquor scam and that similar scams had been exposed in Kerala. He also mentioned that leaders from AAP and BRS had been jailed over liquor-related cases.

Bandi Sanjay then shifted focus to Telangana’s problems. He highlighted that over 10 lakh farmers had lost their crops due to lack of irrigation water. Recent unseasonal rains had further damaged crops. Additionally, unpaid Aarogyasri dues meant that many poor patients could not get medical treatment, and unpaid fee reimbursements had forced students to drop out. Colleges were shutting down, and former sarpanches were struggling with debt due to unpaid bills.

He also pointed out that Anganwadi and ASHA workers were protesting over low wages, while lakhs of unemployed youth were facing difficulties. Government employees were unhappy due to pending salary revisions, unpaid DA arrears, and withheld GPF funds. Pensioners were also suffering due to unpaid retirement benefits.

Despite these issues, Bandi Sanjay criticized Congress and BRS leaders for traveling to Chennai to engage in political debates over delimitation. He accused them of spreading hatred against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP without doing anything for the people of Telangana. He concluded by saying that the people of Telangana were watching everything and would respond appropriately at the right time.
