The weather in Telangana has changed suddenly, bringing rain after a very hot summer. While the rainfall has provided some relief, it has also caused problems for farmers in many districts.
On Friday, several areas, including Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Karimnagar, experienced rain. Some places even saw hailstorms, which damaged crops. In Kagaznagar, Komuram Bheem district, strong winds uprooted a large tree in Pochamma Basti, crushing two vehicles.
The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert. A trough at 1.5 km above sea level extends from South Chhattisgarh through Telangana and into Karnataka. Because of this, Telangana is expected to receive light to moderate rain on Saturday and Sunday. Winds could reach speeds of 60 km per hour, and some areas may experience thunder and lightning.
The weather department has also predicted a slight drop in temperatures for the next two days. However, after this short break, temperatures are expected to rise again. Today, the highest temperature is expected to be 38.5°C in Bhadrachalam, while Hanumakonda will have a minimum temperature of 34°C.
On Friday, the highest temperature recorded in Telangana was 39.6°C in Medak. Other temperatures included 39°C in Adilabad, 38.6°C in Nizamabad, 37.8°C in Bhadrachalam, and 37.6°C in both Mahabubnagar and Khammam. Nalgonda recorded 37°C, Hyderabad 36.5°C, Ramagundam 35.2°C, and Hanumakonda 34.5°C.
