Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) said on Sunday that he is not afraid of a legal notice and will not stop speaking out against illegal activities.
KTR’s statement was in response to a legal notice sent by Srujan Reddy, the brother-in-law of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. “If you think sending a legal notice through your brother-in-law will silence me, you are wrong,” KTR said.
He accused the Chief Minister of awarding a government contract worth Rs 1,137 crore under the AMRUT scheme to his brother-in-law’s company, Shodha Constructions. KTR pointed out that this small company reportedly made only Rs 2 crore in annual profits over the last two years. He claimed this breaks Sections 7, 11, and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. KTR further criticized the CM for giving such large contracts to family members while also demolishing poor people’s homes. “Do you expect us to stay quiet?” he asked.
KTR added that the Chief Minister’s connections in Delhi would not be able to protect him. He expressed confidence in the judiciary, saying that legal consequences were inevitable for Revanth Reddy.
KTR also claimed that the Chief Minister’s greed for Rs 1.5 lakh crore was putting millions of lives at risk. He said the city was suffering due to the pain of affected citizens. Despite this, KTR urged people not to lose hope and promised legal support from the BRS team.
KTR, who is recovering from a viral fever, announced that he would visit residents facing eviction in Rajendranagar on Monday.
