The BRS in Hyderabad accused Chevella MP G Ranjith Reddy of betraying them by leaving the party and joining the Congress. P Karthik Reddy, a leader of BRS, called Reddy’s actions “hypocrisy, fraud, and backstabbing” during a press conference. He claimed that Reddy became an MP thanks to party chief K Chandrashekar Rao and that BRS played a significant role in his success. Karthik Reddy criticized Reddy for leaving the party while KCR was not in power, accusing him of abandoning the party in difficult times.

According to Karthik Reddy, there are rumors that Reddy paid Rs 100 crore for the Chevella LS Congress ticket. He also mentioned that Congress members are questioning why the party would give the ticket to Reddy instead of supporting their own loyal members. Karthik Reddy stated that KCR trusted Reddy when he promised not to run for MP again and to remain with BRS. However, Reddy’s decision to switch parties has been seen as a betrayal by KCR and the BRS.
