    Over 1,000 schools in Hyderabad attended a program organized by the city police to address substance abuse among students. The program was held at the Telangana Police Command and Control Centre, ICCC.

    The city police Commissioner and chairman of HCSC, K Sreenivasa Reddy, hosted a meeting for school administrators from Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda. He emphasized the importance of involving schools in tackling the issue of drug abuse among students.

    The chief guest, Burra Venkatesham, stressed the need for collaboration to make Hyderabad and Telangana drug-free. He highlighted the increasing presence of drugs in educational institutions and the importance of monitoring students for behavioral changes.

    Sandeep Shandilya from the Telangana State Anti-narcotics Bureau highlighted the impact of peer pressure and lack of love on children turning to drugs. He emphasized the role of parents, teachers, and law enforcement in addressing this issue.

    Avinash Mohanty, Cyberabad Police Commissioner, emphasized the importance of addressing drug abuse within peer groups at schools. Dr. Tarun Joshi, Rachakonda Police Commissioner, stressed the need for creating awareness about the drug menace.

    A Sridevasena, Commissioner and Director of School Education, assured schools that their names and students’ names would not be revealed when addressing drug-related issues. Bharani Aroll, HCSC adviser, emphasized the impact teachers can have on students and the importance of collaborative efforts to create a drug-free environment.
