Kukatpally, a suburb in Hyderabad, has recently received a new cloth bag ATM installation. The initiative is a joint effort between the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the State Bank of India (SBI). The new cloth bag ATM aims to promote the use of eco-friendly bags and reduce plastic waste in the city. The cloth bags provided by the ATM are made from recycled materials and can be reused multiple times, making them an excellent alternative to single-use plastic bags.

The installation of the cloth bag ATM is part of the GHMC’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable living in Hyderabad. The initiative is also in line with the Indian government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign, which aims to make India clean and free from open defecation by 2022. The GHMC has been actively promoting the use of cloth bags in the city and has already distributed over 10,000 cloth bags to residents. The new cloth bag ATM installation is expected to further promote the use of eco-friendly bags and reduce plastic waste in the city.

The cloth bag ATM is easy to use and operates like any other ATM machine. Customers can withdraw a maximum of two cloth bags per transaction, and the service is available 24/7. The initiative has received positive feedback from residents, who appreciate the convenience and environmental benefits of the new service. The GHMC and SBI are planning to install more cloth bag ATMs in other parts of Hyderabad, with the aim of making eco-friendly bags easily accessible to all residents. The initiative is a step towards a more sustainable future for Hyderabad and a cleaner, greener India.
