Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticized the government’s loan waiver scheme, calling it a failure. He accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of deceiving the public and vowed to continue the fight against this “cheating.” The party will launch a ‘Jail Bharo’ movement until all loans are waived.

During a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Rao announced that the party would hold State-wide protests on Thursday, demanding a loan waiver without any conditions. He mentioned that he would personally participate in the protest at Chevella, while MLAs have been instructed to lead protests in their respective constituencies. Before staging these protests, party leaders would perform a ‘Palabhishekam’ ceremony at the Telangana Talli statue to condemn the Chief Minister’s derogatory remarks.

Rao further alleged that the loan waiver was a fraud, pointing out inconsistencies in the statements made by different ministers. He claimed that 70 lakh farmers were dissatisfied because the loan waiver had not been properly implemented. According to him, the Agriculture Minister stated that Rs 2 lakh worth of loans had been waived, while the Chief Minister claimed that the process was complete. Additionally, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy mentioned that Rs 12,000 crore worth of loans were waived, but some loans were left out due to technical reasons.
