Hyderabad Industries Minister KT Rama Rao visited Chicago’s Food Processing Ecosystem during his trip to the US. He explored the Chicago Food Stop, which is a public-private economic development agency in the city. The Chicago Food Stop has food kiosks, interactive displays, historical artifacts, and a mainstage theatre. It showcases partner brands that share their food stories and receive feedback on new products.
Chicago is known for its food innovation and serves as a hub for the transformation of agricultural products into consumable goods. The city has a well-developed innovation ecosystem in the food processing industry.
During his visit, Minister KTR engaged with local entrepreneurs and vendors to learn about food processing technology and procurement practices. He was inspired by Chicago’s Food Innovation Ecosystem and expressed his desire to create something similar in Telangana. He emphasized the importance of embracing innovation in the food industry to support local farmers and contribute to economic growth.
Minister KTR shared his vision for Telangana’s food processing sector, stating that it can increase farmers’ earnings by adding more value to their crops. He highlighted Telangana’s strategic location and expressed his goal to establish the state as a central hub for food processing.
During his interactions, Minister KTR also mentioned the remarkable progress in agriculture and allied sectors under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He highlighted the state’s five revolutions in agriculture, dairy, meat, fish, and edible oil production.
