Hyderabad: The Janwada farmhouse has become a hot topic in the ongoing political battle between the Congress and the BRS. On Wednesday, BRS working president KT Rama Rao challenged the demolition of farmhouses belonging to several ruling party leaders, including Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Vivek Venkataswamy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Gutha Sukhender Reddy.
KT Rama Rao clarified that he does not own a farmhouse. He explained that the farmhouse in question actually belongs to his friend, and he has only taken it on lease. This statement came during a press conference where he was asked about the alleged construction of his farmhouse on Full Tank Level (FTL) land, which is meant for water bodies.
Rao stated, “I don’t have a farmhouse in my name. I have taken the farmhouse on lease from my friend. If it is in FTL, I will ensure it is demolished, but the authorities should also take action against the constructions in FTL by the Congress leaders.” He accused Congress leaders, including the Chief Minister and others, of illegal construction on FTL land.
He suggested that the demolition drive should begin with the Chief Minister’s farmhouse, which he claimed is located in a buffer zone. Rao criticized the government’s lack of action, calling the current situation a “drama” under the pretext of HYDRA. He urged the government to show its commitment by demolishing all illegal constructions on the same day to set an example for the public.
Finally, KT Rama Rao called on the Chief Minister to lead by example by first demolishing his own illegal constructions in the buffer zone and within his party, demonstrating integrity and accountability.
