BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has announced that he will begin a state-wide padayatra (foot march) from the end of 2026. The journey will start in north Telangana’s Adilabad district and will cover the entire state over a period of seven to eight months.

Speaking to the media during his visit to Suryapet on Thursday, KTR stated that the purpose of the padayatra is to bring the BRS party back to power.

During a meeting with BRS workers in Suryapet, KTR criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of focusing more on earning commissions rather than governing effectively. He pointed out that the Congress government had promised a ₹37,000 crore farm loan waiver but has failed to implement it. He questioned where the funds for this scheme had gone.

KTR also blamed the Congress government for the ongoing water crisis in Telangana. He claimed that the shortage was not due to natural drought but rather due to the government’s inefficiency. He highlighted that under KCR’s leadership, 36% of Krishna River water was utilized, whereas the current administration has only managed 24%. He also criticized the government for failing to repair the Medigadda barrage, which has allowed Godavari water to flow into Andhra Pradesh instead of benefiting Telangana.

Additionally, KTR pointed out that despite having a water resources minister from Nalgonda, the region continues to suffer from severe water shortages. He also reminded people of the tragic SLBC tunnel accident, accusing a minister of attending a feast instead of handling the crisis properly.

Encouraging party workers to stay active, KTR urged them to participate in the upcoming Warangal Sabha on April 27. He emphasized that 2024 will be a “year of struggle” for the BRS party.
