The Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao has proposed the creation of an underground playground in Hyderabad after seeing a similar space in Navi Mumbai. The idea was sparked by a viral tweet featuring a group of young people playing cricket under an over-bridge. The playground in Navi Mumbai also includes a basketball court, badminton court, and a play area for children. Minister Rao expressed his enthusiasm for the idea and suggested working with MA&UD Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar to identify suitable locations for such public spaces. The move has been welcomed by Hyderabadis who have long been advocating for more public spaces in the city. Many have praised the Minister for his quick response to the viral tweet and his commitment to creating more public spaces that promote community engagement and physical activity.
