Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday emphasized that the recent election results in Maharashtra and Jharkhand have reinforced the importance of regional parties in Indian politics. He stated that regional parties have always played a crucial role and will continue to shape the country’s political future.

KTR criticized the Congress party, accusing it of failing to act as a strong opposition while working to undermine regional parties. He claimed that this has become a recurring pattern in Indian politics. According to KTR, the BJP is thriving primarily due to Congress’s “inability and incompetence.” He also accused both national parties of relying on the hard work and commitment of regional parties to sustain themselves.

In a direct message to CM Revanth Reddy, KTR mocked Congress’s campaign efforts. He said that extravagant campaigns, speeches, and the use of bags and choppers could not prevent Congress from facing failure. He urged Reddy to focus on fulfilling the six guarantees promised to the people of Telangana over a year ago, instead of wasting efforts elsewhere.

The BRS leader further accused Congress of betraying the people of Telangana by failing to implement its poll promises. He alleged that despite spending ₹300 crore of Telangana taxpayers’ money on misleading advertisements, Congress failed to gain trust in Maharashtra. The public, he said, saw through the “lies” and rejected the party.

KTR also pointed out Congress’s contradictory stance on business tycoon Adani. He criticized Congress for labeling Adani a fraud in Maharashtra while continuing to maintain business ties with him in Telangana. Highlighting Congress’s failures, he concluded that the party was completely rejected by the people in Maharashtra.
