The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president, KT Rama Rao, accepted the defeat in the recent election. He expressed that the party is saddened but not disheartened by the people’s mandate in Telangana.
During a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Rama Rao thanked the people for giving the party the opportunity to serve them for two consecutive terms. He acknowledged their efforts to make Hyderabad the best city in India. Although the result was not as expected, the party will continue to work for the benefit of the people under K Chandrashekar Rao and play a constructive role as the opposition.
Rama Rao stated that the party will review the reasons for their defeat and learn from it. With 39 seats, they have been given a strong mandate to be a formidable opposition. He expressed gratitude to the government employees and officials for their support and effort.
Rama Rao congratulated the Congress party on being given the chance to run the government and urged them to fulfill the aspirations of the people. He emphasized that the new government should be given time to deliver on their promises.
The BRS leader highlighted that despite their defeat, Hyderabad district and Medak stood by the party. He mentioned that some party candidates lost by small margins and even ministers faced defeat in certain places.
In a tweet, Rama Rao expressed gratitude to the people of Telangana for giving BRS two consecutive terms and mentioned being disappointed with the election result but seeing it as a learning opportunity to bounce back.
Overall, despite the defeat, the BRS remains determined and committed to serving the people of Telangana in their role as a constructive opposition.
