The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) believes that the ‘Bandhu’ schemes affected the party’s performance in the recent Assembly elections. KT Rama Rao, the former minister and working president of BRS, stated that when one person benefits from these schemes, others become jealous. He also mentioned that the party’s chances of winning a majority of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections are improved due to the triangular contest.

Rama Rao mentioned these points during a preparatory meeting for the Zaheerabad Lok Sabha. In the 2014 elections, BRS fought alone and despite not being strongly organized, they received blessings from the people and won 39 out of 119 seats. Rama Rao expressed his disappointment that even though they provided assistance to certain groups, those groups did not vote for them due to jealousy.

Rama Rao also highlighted the suffering of those who voted for Congress, as K Chandrashekar Rao is no longer the Chief Minister. He emphasized that BRS is the only party fighting for Telangana and if they are not strong, other parties may try to undermine Telangana again.

Rama Rao criticized the Congress government for achieving disrepute within just one month. He mentioned that their MLAs are already facing protests from the public and accused the government of trying to avoid fulfilling their guarantees by using debt as an excuse.

He expressed confidence in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, stating that the triangular contest will work in their favor. He believes that sympathy for K Chandrashekar Rao and factions distancing themselves from Congress will lead to victory for BRS.

Rama Rao urged the party to avoid making the same mistakes they made in the Assembly elections by not changing some sitting members. He mentioned that the Congress government is canceling the schemes introduced by BRS and criticized their regressive measures.

Rama Rao recalled previous instances where a similar situation occurred, such as NTR bringing good schemes in 1985-89 but losing the subsequent elections. He also claimed that those who voted for Congress are now reconsidering and suggested increasing pressure by highlighting Congress’ numerous promises.

Rama Rao mentioned that Revanth Reddy’s proposal to reduce the number of districts should be carefully considered. He stated that BRS is not rushing to criticize the government but will respond if the Congress leaders continue to attack them.

Overall, Rama Rao emphasized the impact of the ‘Bandhu’ schemes on the party’s performance, expressed confidence in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, and criticized the Congress government for their actions.
