    KTR: Over 900,000 jobs created by State IT sector

    Hyderabad: Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K T Rama Rao highlighted the achievements of the BRS government, stating that it has made Hyderabad a preferred destination for IT not just in India, but globally.

    He mentioned that IT exports have reached Rs 57,707 crore in a single year, compared to Rs 57,258 crore in the previous 27 years. For the financial year 2022-23, IT exports are projected to be Rs 2,41,275 crore.

    KTR attributed this growth to the able leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Telangana has experienced four times the growth rate of other states.

    Since the formation of Telangana in 2014, IT exports from united Andhra Pradesh were at Rs 57,258 crore. The growth rate for the financial year 2022-23 is the highest since the formation of the state. Telangana accounts for 44% of the total employment generated in the IT industry. These statistics are from the Government of India and NASSCOM.

    KTR listed various establishments that have made Hyderabad an attractive location for investment. The government has been able to create over six lakh jobs, compared to the previous three lakh jobs before the formation of Telangana.

    Regarding Tier-II cities, KTR mentioned that entrepreneurs have already set up companies in places like Bellampally, creating hundreds of jobs. IT hubs are also being established in other cities.

    In response to Akbaruddin Owaisi’s question about developing parts of the Old City, KTR stated that a 12-acre land has been identified and tenders are being finalized. A facility will be set up in Malakpet, and companies interested in signing MoUs are being pursued.

    Overall, the government’s priorities include promoting IT growth, expanding job opportunities, and developing infrastructure in various cities across Telangana.
