BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticized the One Nation One Election(ONOE) proposed by the Centre, calling it a cheap political gimmick and an attention-diversion tactic. He expressed confidence in winning over 90 seats in the upcoming elections and believed that people would trust Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership.

According to Rao, the BJP has no answers for their unfulfilled promises, so they resort to such cheap stunts. He stated that the BJP doesn’t address important issues like employment, housing, and bullet trains. He also questioned why the BJP, with its majority in 17 states, couldn’t implement ONOE if they wanted to. Rao believed that this proposal was just a tactic to delay elections in Telangana and didn’t benefit the country under BJP rule.

Rao mentioned that his party had already given a letter on ONOE back in 2018. When asked about changing the country’s name, he dismissed it as an insignificant matter and claimed that the BJP had nothing substantial to talk about. He accused the BJP and Congress MPs of doing nothing for the state, citing examples of unfulfilled promises and lack of progress. Rao criticized the BJP’s leadership, referring to them as a disaster for the country.

Regarding the collusion between the saffron party and Congress in the state, Rao pointed out instances where senior Congress leaders lost deposits and faced raids by investigative agencies. He highlighted the advantage PM Modi had due to there being no strong candidates from the Congress party.

Rao emphasized that while the BRS had Chief Minister KCR as their face, the opposition parties lacked the courage to declare their CM candidate in Telangana. He declined to comment on developments in Andhra Pradesh, stating that they were focused on their own issues. When asked about the recent G-20 summit, he humorously remarked that people nowadays were more interested in T-20 cricket.

Rao criticized Congress leader KVP Ramachandra Rao’s claim of being a Telanganite, stating that he was the one who had broken the BRS party. Regarding an alliance with Left parties, Rao revealed that discussions had taken place but no agreement had been reached.
