BRS working president K T Rao expressed disappointment with the interim budget presented by the Congress government in the Assembly. He stated that the Congress party’s six guarantees would need Rs 1.25 lakh crore for effective implementation, but the budget only allocated Rs 53,000 crore. KTR highlighted that there are 13 major promises within the six guarantees and a total of 420 promises made by the Congress party, but it is unclear how these commitments will be fulfilled.
KTR emphasized that approximately Rs 50,000 crore is needed for the implementation of the Mahalakshmi guarantees, which include providing Rs 2,500 per month to all women. He expressed concerns about the lack of clarity on how funds will be mobilized for important schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Aasra Pensions, and crop loan waivers.
The BRS leader also raised concerns about the cancellation of significant projects like Pharma City and the Metro Rail expansion, warning that it could negatively impact the state’s development and income.
Lastly, KTR warned that if the promised free electricity of up to 200 units is not provided, the BRS party would launch a massive agitation.
