Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao stated that his party has never had an alliance with the BJP in the past and will not have one in the future. He made these remarks during a meeting for the Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency. Rao also mentioned that the BRS defeated three BJP MPs in the recent Assembly elections. He clarified that KCR, the leader of the party, has never allied with the BJP throughout his political career.

Rao accused both the Congress and BJP of colluding against the BRS in the past. He claimed that during the last Lok Sabha elections, both parties joined forces to defeat the BRS. Rao also criticized those who try to link the BRS with the BJP, stating that they are attempting to falsely associate Shankaracharya with a religious ritual.

Rao pointed out an example of collusion between the Congress and BJP. He mentioned separate notifications issued by the Election Commission for two Council seats after Revanth Reddy met with Union Minister Amit Shah. Despite the BRS’s attempt to stop this through legal means, they were disappointed with the outcome.

Rao criticized the BJP for bringing religion into politics and asserted that the BRS is a truly secular party. He mentioned that if they had distributed offerings from the Yadadri temple, they might have won in Bhongir and Nalgonda constituencies. He emphasized that while BJP leaders prioritize politics over religion, KCR focuses on religion as it is.

Rao listed several reasons for the BRS’s defeat in the Assembly polls. He urged party members to avoid thinking that people made a mistake by not voting for the BRS. He acknowledged that there were mistakes made in administration and party organization, and took responsibility for those errors. Rao also spoke against the party’s policy of focusing on individual MLAs rather than the party as a whole.
